Beach, sun, rain.
We decided at the last minute to get out of town. We had this realization that we weren’t going to be able to escape town until well after Della gets here. She might be an avid traveller and all … but we’re pretty sure we’re going to want to chill for a bit. So we packed up the car and drove to the coast for the week. Rented a nice little beach house that was a throw to the beach (you could see the waves crashing out the window). Everyone else is still working or going to school … so most of the area was silent.

After the first few days of fresh fish from Illwaco and walks on the beach … you realize you haven’t done anything but slow down. That’s exactly what we needed … Spain digs deep holes in the sand, the pelicans eat the morning crab that end up caught in the tide pools. Saw a few crazy people that were sailing close to the shore in the waves. It was great northwest coastal weather … one minute it’s sunny and the next minute the clouds unleash.
