Della has taken a strong liking to riding off the trail. We were on the long Sammamish trail over the Summer frequently and you’d turn your head to find her up above dipping into the ditches of the dirt trail. I needed to get a good dirt friendly build together so I could share that with her. She rode enough distance road rides … time for me to roll with her. All of my other bikes have tiny 700c road tires or components that aren’t off road friendly … Riding in the dirt is possible, but that would quickly tear up the bike. Well, right as I was about to build up some sort of dirt jump street bike from scratch, I scored a near-new single speed Specialized P Street. The prior owner had barely used it and gave me a great deal – the chain was still shiny. Crazy luck …. So, we hit the nearby park and did some dirt riding. Super fun to be able follow her around. It’s totally a hooligan bike – which makes it even more fun. Already have some good bruises and misses to show for it. There’s a good dirt park in Issaquah from what I hear …
