Who’s Della before?
Alright .. so you may have heard. Ginger and Joshua are having a baby. What do you need to know about this little one?
Her name?? Yes … she already has one. We may have broken some ancient cardinal rule by giving her one before she shows up. But hey, it was stuck in our heads and we like it.
Della Tetro Warren
Della? This is Ginger’s great grandmother’s name (on her mom’s side).
Tetro? This is Joshua’s great grandmother’s name (on his mother’s side). (pronounced ‘Teh-tro’)
Warren? Errr, you know …. w-ah-wrehn ..
When’s lil’ Della Tetro due? August 11th, 2006. Now we all know babies come early and late. But if she comes on that actual date, that would be fresh – it’s Franklin Warren’s (Josh’s grandfather) birthday.
What else do we want to share with you? Well, she kicks alot … a lllll oooot. We hear that’s the sign of a happy, healthy baby. great! She’s seeming to enjoy music. Loud bass is good. Disco was better than hip hop … anything with lots of strings or keyboards. Girly vocal house seemed to hit the spot. We’ve been taking her out to shows, hooking her up with a nice pair of studio headphones and making sure to un-dust our favorite 12″s. Della seems to enjoy chocolate milk and cookies … sugar water makes her dance. She’s already got some good friends living here … Paris the (slightly evil) cat and Spain the dog. She has her own room. She’s psyched.
Rumor from Della is she’s not going to be super down with wearing scary, girly, frilly, pink stuff *. I mean, she digs the cute little girl stuff (monkeys, bugs, our neighbor totoro). But she was scared of getting any sorts of strange church wear or fashion model stuff. Really. she told us this. She does like pink in moderation though – yellows and blues … greens. Just remember she has a bottom dresser drawer of ‘do I really have to wear that mom and dad?’.
* Don’t stress! Pink isn’t a bad color at all! I mean hey it’s a light shade of red right? Della was just letting us know she was scared of things that say ‘i’m a magical unicorn and a winner’ or clothes that look like someone’s drapes made them.

In the past two years at the University of Washington Teacher Education Program, I have come to know some of the best, most brilliantly beautiful women in the world. We’ve stressed together over and classes, supported each other through our internships,and consoled each other when we thought the work would never end. Through it all, I come out with a degree in teaching, a masters in education, and a group of the bestest friends I could ever have. Cheesy, I know, but I just love anybody who makes me a diaper cake and tells me to guess the mystery smell in a diaper at a baby shower. Thanks you guys for all the gifts and books. Della will love you!!

GingerDellaJosh are indebted to Mrs. Jennifer Yule (artisan, career woman, baby shower extraordinaire) for putting on an amazing day. With the amazing guest list, tea sandwiches, sparkling cider and baby bingo it was an OprahMartha day to be forever treasured. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the family and friends who sent us gifts in the mail and brought goodies to the shower. We really appreciate all of these things. We feel the love and we’ll do our darndest to put Della in your new thing every time you see her
